OY Sound System

About:

OY Sound System is a rap group from Kyiv. It is impossible to categorise the art of this incendiary duo into specific stylistic and genre categories. Their unique sound is a mix of Ukrainian, Middle Eastern and Indian folk rhythms and motifs, dubstep, reggae, future garage, and electro rock, with leitmotifs from dance and action films. With this potent combination, OYSS can set any stage on fire; they began touring extensively in 2017 upon releasing their first album, which immediately entered the local charts and was nominated for Album of the Year. They are currently working on a new album and have already shared some of their new creations with the audience. The main features of the upcoming album are ‘monumentality’ and ‘cinematicity’, and it is scheduled for release in 2021.

For the last five years they have played at most major national music events and festivals, such as Atlas Weekend, Jazz Koktebel, GogolFest, and Electro Stage Kyiv Music Days Showcases.
