Zetetics

About: Zetetics is a Ukrainian rock band formed in 2014 by lead singer Lika Buhaieva. Their music has very personal lyrics and a mystical aestheticism, full of a romanticism which makes their art feel and sound very cinematic from the opening chords of each song. They focus on impressionistic sound and poetry to create a deeper, more emotional feel to their music. Zetetics and Lika Buhaieva first broke out onto the scene through the TV show ‘The Voice’. The band’s debut album, Finally I See, was rated the best Ukrainian album of 2015 by Inspired. Their single, ‘Fly Away’, is well known for its video, in which Lika sings and uses sign language at the same time, and the single was shared by the official Twitter account of Ukraine.

In autumn 2015, the band released a new album Zetetic. ‘Zetetic’ is an obscure English word with a Greek root, meaning ‘those who seek the truth’. The album was praised by comma.com.ua and BeeHype. The band has also released its first full concert video, Live in Kyiv.

In winter 2017, the band released Rooftop Live, a biographical music film. In September 2019, Zetetics released their third studio album, titled 11:11. The band has composed and performed the music for the film Nightmare Director (also known as School Number 5), which was released in October 2019.
